Had the check engine light come 0n, had the code read at O'Reilley, it was a P0332 (Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2)) Yesterday I bought 2 new knock sensors and the dual connector wiring harness, installed, put it back together, running good. Drove it 10 miles yesterday and 45 miles this morning, check engine light is still on.The Knock Sensor, located in the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold, is tuned to detect that frequency. Inside the knock sensor is a piezoelectric element. Piezoelectric elements generate a voltage when pressure or vibration is applied to them. The piezoelectric element in the Knock Sensor is tuned to the engine knock frequency.
I had an issue with knock sensor after replacing the sensor three times. In my case, fuel filter was never replaced on my impala, and fuel line was clogged. 2001 Impala Other symptoms: Trouble starting Loss of power Trouble going up hills.
Knock Sensor Location Diagram. If drive around with the check engine light on when a code P0332 or a P0327 is set in the computer memory, engine damage could occur. To me the most interesting part about the knock sensor is that it only has one wire going to it. The reason for this is the sensor generates its own voltage and is case grounded.
